Delivery of Russia's first Project 22350 frigate delayed until May

The much awaited delivery of the first-of-class Russian frigate Project 22350 Admiral Gorshkov has been delayed with the vessel still undergoing weapons testing, Russia's Ministry of Defence (MoD) reported on 25 December.

The MoD stated that the ship has completed initial gun, air defence, and cruise missile tests, with firing on maritime and coastal targets in the White Sea and on the Chizh range in the Arkangelsk region.

Deputy head of Naval Armaments Rear Admiral Viktor Bursuk, has said that the frigate will be transferred to the navy in 2016, and state-owned news portals reported that it will be commissioned in May. Source
